The Finance Club at Instituto de Empresa where I have a coordination role, has organized today great conference with Managing Directors from the banking industry here in Spain.
The main objective of the conference was to provide students with a clear view from the different opportunities in banking they can pursue after the MBA. We had speakers for Private Banking, M&A, Private Equity and Fund Sales and Fund Management.
It impressed me to see almost 90 students attending the conference. In fact the panel was very good and the students main concern was regarding their previous professional experience and current academic "bet" and how this combination would affect the entry level position for any of the opportunities presented.
I was very pleased with the feed-back from the students but also from the speakers that found this to be a very good event where they could present their careers and perspectives about their own jobs.
I hope that with my team mates at the Finance Club we are able to keep organizing this type of events in order to clear everyone's ideas, me included.
