Google Books: Nova funcionalidade Google

Google lançou uma nova funcionalidade: Google Books que permite a pesquisa de livros, bem como do seu conteúdo. E se o livro estiver livre de direitos de autor, aparecerá um link para download em .pdf. Parece haver ainda alguns temas de direitos de autor por solucionar. Google não pára de surpreender.

Golf: Monte Rei, um campo a visitar!

Jogo Golf há apenas uma ano, sem a frequência necessária que este desporto requere. Conheço poucos campos, no entanto este verão no Algarve joguei num campo novo Monte Rei. Fica em Vila Real de Santo António, cerca de 1 hora desde Faro. O serviço é extraordinário, mas incluído dentro do generoso gree fee (12o euros) que inclui entre outros: entrega de toalhas frescas, caixa com gelo no cart, lavagem de tacos, transporte de tacos até ao carro...

O campo é extremamente díficil e tem buracos com areia por todos os lados, com bunkers de mais de 2 metros de altura.

Ainda assim valeu a pena. As fotos são muitos boas Fotos Golf Monte Rei

Veleiro mais rapido do mundo

Há já algum tempo que não escrevia um post.

Depois de ter passado uma semana de férias a bordo de um barco a vela, modesto, com 50 pés, confesso que fiquei a gostar bastante de velejar. Durante a nossa viagem, por Ibiza e Formentera, o barco chegou a atingir 8 nós, o que foi impressionante por o barco ia completamente de lado. Agora acabo de ver aquele que parece ser o veleiro mais rápido do mundo, o hydroptere. É um barco que está construído de forma a que navegue fora de água por forma a ganhar a máxima velocidade possível. Merece a pena ver.

Free Google T-shirt

I have just won a Google T-shirt in my Information Systems class from the International MBA at Instituto de Empresa.

Bernardo Hernández, Marketing Director from Google Spain came to class to present Google's history and their near future perpectives.

This was an initiative from our teacher Enrique Dans, who has been very active in bringing top speakers to the class.

Finance Club conference

The Finance Club at Instituto de Empresa where I have a coordination role, has organized today great conference with Managing Directors from the banking industry here in Spain.

The main objective of the conference was to provide students with a clear view from the different opportunities in banking they can pursue after the MBA. We had speakers for Private Banking, M&A, Private Equity and Fund Sales and Fund Management.

It impressed me to see almost 90 students attending the conference. In fact the panel was very good and the students main concern was regarding their previous professional experience and current academic "bet" and how this combination would affect the entry level position for any of the opportunities presented.

I was very pleased with the feed-back from the students but also from the speakers that found this to be a very good event where they could present their careers and perspectives about their own jobs.

I hope that with my team mates at the Finance Club we are able to keep organizing this type of events in order to clear everyone's ideas, me included.
